We are Kaunas Jonas Jablonskis Gymnasium, one of the oldest and biggest schools in the city. To have received the European Innovative Teaching Award is a huge honor and a significant acknowledgment.
For us, this award means a future where everyone belongs and every language is important. Our Erasmus Plus project was dedicated to learning languages, developing citizenship skills, and build democratic values.
This project transformed our school, students became more courageous, creative, and self-confident.
Personally, this was an unforgettable experience for me, as it showed me the difference in cultures and also the values which Spain has as a country. Also, this project provided us with experience we will never forget.
I still look back at that time with a big smile on my face, I hope everyone gets to experience that. We were able to learn and communicate in several languages. This gave us courage. And we realized that languages connect, not divide.
